I’m Frank Heneghan, the creator of the Gutter App™. As a contractor myself, I understand the challenges that come with managing a business and dealing with the administrative side of things. That’s why I created this app to help my fellow contractors streamline their workflow, save time, and improve customer satisfaction. With the Gutter App™, you can easily organize your jobs, get your customers to sign digitally, and bill them with zero merchant fees. My goal is to make your job as a contractor a little bit easier and help you grow your business. I’m constantly working to improve the app and welcome any feedback or suggestions you may have. How is Gutter App™ different from your competitors? + -

How do I signup? + -

To sign up for Gutter App™, users can go to the Apple App Store, download the app, and agree to the monthly subscription charge before accessing the trial period. During the trial, users can use all of the app's features to see how it can benefit their business. If Gutter App™ is not the right fit, users should cancel their subscription before the trial period ends to avoid being charged. However, if they find the app useful, they can continue using it by paying the monthly subscription fee after the trial period has expired.

What platforms do you support? + -

Currently, Gutter App is only available for Apple iOS devices, specifically for iPhone and iPad. This means that users with Android devices or other operating systems won't be able to access the app at this time. However, Gutter App™ team is constantly working on expanding the app's availability and may release versions for other devices in the future. For now, users can download the app from the Apple App Store on their iPhone or iPad and start using its features to streamline their workflow, save time, and improve customer satisfaction.

Will Android be supported in the near future? + -

At the moment, the Gutter App is only available for Apple iOS devices, specifically for iPhone and iPad. However, the Gutter App team is aware of the growing demand for an Android version of the app, and they are considering expanding the app's availability in the future. Although there is no specific timeline for when an Android version of the Gutter App will be released, users can sign up for the app's newsletter to stay updated on any new developments and releases. For now, the Gutter App team is focused on providing the best possible experience for iOS users and continuing to improve the app's features and functionality.

How do I cancel my subscription? + -

It's important to note that cancelling your subscription to Gutter App means that you will lose access to its features and functionality. To cancel your subscription, you'll need to go to the subscriptions area in Gutter App's settings and click on "cancel subscription". You will be prompted to confirm your cancellation and provide feedback on why you're cancelling. Once you confirm your cancellation, your data and history will be removed from the Gutter App. It's recommended that you export any important data or documents before cancelling your subscription to ensure that you don't lose any important information. How can I change my User Information? + -

Click on the hamburger icon seen on the top left-hand corner of the app, which opens the left-hand side menu navigation. From there, click on the link labeled "View and Edit Profile". In the resulting page, click on the link labeled "Edit Profile". From there, you can change your first name, last name and profile picture. Please note you cannot change your email address.

How can I change my Business Information? + -

Quote

How do I build a quote? + -

To build a quote in Gutter App, you will click the Quote tab from the menu, you will then enter your client's details, followed by any gutter elements on the following pages, the gutter elements section will include mitre, hanger, gutter style, material, color, quantity/ft and unit price. You can adjust the quote with a discount and add your state tax if needed. Once you are done, the information will be outputted into a professional PDF quote document.

Can I save a quote and edit it later? + -

Yes, you can save a quote in the Gutter App and edit it at a later time. This is helpful if you need to make changes to the client's personal information, adjust the gutter elements, or change the linear feet or unit price. Additionally, you can also convert the quote to a contract if needed.

How can I send a quote? + -

To send a quote, you can click the "Quote" button on the menu tab, and then find the specific quote you want to send. Once you've found it, click "Send as Quote" at the bottom of the screen. This will allow you to send the quote as a PDF document via email to your client.

Can I use my own email address to email quotes? Contracts? Work Orders? + -

Yes! This is done automatically when you first create your business profile in the app. Any emails sent to your clients will show your Business Name and Business Email Address as shown in your profile If a client replies to that email, it will be sent to that business email address. So you do not have to worry about any missing communications from your clients!

Are there other ways to obtain a Quote, Unsigned Contract, Signed contract and / or Work Order from the app? + -

Yes! In each quote, unsigned contract, e-signed contract and work order. You will see the 3 Dots icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Click on that will show you the following share options: AirDrop, Messages, Mail, Print and Save to Files.

Contracts

How do I create a contract? + -

  1. Open the Gutter App on your iOS device.
  2. Click on the "Quote" button on the menu tab.
  3. Find the specific quote you want to turn into a contract.
  4. Once you've found it, click "Convert to Contract" at the bottom of the screen.
  5. The quote will be converted into a contract, which you can then edit and customize as needed.
  6. Once you're ready to send the contract to your client, you can do so by clicking the "Send as Contract" button.

This will turn the quote into a formal binding contract that you can send to your clients via email.

How does a contract get signed? + -

The client will receive an email from the contractor with a link to the contract in PDF format. The client must sign the contract digitally in two places. After signing the first signature area, they can simply click the second area and the signature will be automatically added. All signatures will receive an automatic time stamp.

Can I edit a contract? + -

To revise a contract, it can only be done if the client has not yet signed it digitally. If the client wishes to make changes to the contract after it has been sent, the contractor must revise the information in the original quote and convert it into a new contract. If the client has already signed the original contract, a new quote must be created with the updated details and then converted into a new contract. It's important to note that once a contract has been digitally signed, it cannot be edited within the app.

How do I resend an e-signed contract? + -

To resend a signed contract, the contractor should navigate to the recent quotes and contracts list in the Gutter App and find the client's name whose contract needs to be resent. Click on the client's name to view their profile, and at the bottom of the page, there will be an option to download the signed contract in a PDF format. Once downloaded, the contractor can send the signed contract via email to the client.

Work Orders

How do I create and send a work order? + -

Work orders are automatically generated when a quote is converted into a contract. You will receive the work order along with the signed contract from the client in your email. To access the work order again, you can go to the "Recent Quotes and Contracts" section within the app, find the client's name, and click on their name to view their contract and work order. From there, you can download and send the work order as a PDF document via email.

How do I share a Demo outside of the app? + -

Yes you can! Simply click on the 3 dots icon on the top right-hand corner and choose any of the options to share the demo. You can also click on the "Copy" button next to the 3 dots icon and then email / text the link to your intended recipient(s).

Payment

What Credit Card brands does the app support for payment? + -

We support Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express

Do you support payment in currency other USD? + -

We only support USD at this time.

Products

Can I change the product listings I see in the app? + -

Yes you can! To do this, please go to Settings then Manage Materials. From there, you can choose which products you do not want to appear in your instance of Gutter App.
